Okay. You have decided to put the blame on Martelli, who would be sentenced to eight and a half years in the gallows about a year from now. How ironic – the justice minister found guilty for corruption. In an attempt to save your own skin, you accuse Martelli of personal betrayal and challenging you for the party leadership. Well, but that slime DID want to take your seat, didn't he? Hah!

Taking it one step further, you sought to defend yourself by denying all personal connections with the system of kickbacks. Instead, you pushed the blame to the party's former administrative secretary, Vincenzo Balzamo. After all, the guy has already been dead for three months. Why not just let him take the heat? He's not going to feel anything!

Uh oh. Bad news, boss. Another problem just popped up. Just when you least expected, two guys turned up out of nowhere to testify against you. The first guy is Silvano Larini, the chief collector of PSI bribes who turned witness against you, having been in hiding in the Dominican Republic. The second one is the former party secretary, Giacomo Mancini. He told the judges that it was quite impossible for someone like you to not know about the dealings.

Boy are you in trouble now or what...

Perhaps it's time to lay low for a while.
