June 1992, Milan

A certain Piero Bassetti, the president of Milan's Chamber of Commerce, says businessmen were just waiting for an opportunity to escape the embrace of greedy politicians like YOU!  Around 150 trillion lire worth of kickbacks have already been traced over the past few weeks.

Many of your Milanese colleagues have been arrested over these past few weeks. The confessions of two former Socialist mayors, Carlo Tognoli (the minister of tourism) and Paolo Pillitteri (your beloved brother-in-law) has resulted in your own party losing faith in your leadership. And to make matters worse, the recent arrests have linked you to all those involved. No matter how hard you deny, no one can ignore the fact that with most of the arrests taking place in your hometown of Milan, you have definitely got to know something about them.

Giuliano Amato

Your associate and long-standing lieutenant, Giuliano Amato has been chosen to take over as the Prime Minister. This is so embarrassing. The PSI is now heading the coalition government but even though you are the party's leader, you have been reduced to taking the backseat in running the country, behind Amato. Perhaps now is a good time to quit?

Yeah. I'm starting to get bored of this game already (ha ha). But no, seriously. The situation really seems hopeless. Maybe if I confess to my crimes now, I may be able to get off with a lighter sentence.

There is no way I am going to quit. I'm still doing fine. In fact, why is the focus all on me alone? What about the others? Especially those from the other parties! I am not going to give up without a fight...
