December 1992, Milan

Postman came by this morning. You may have just won a million dollars! And then another letter (with that familiar symbol above) caught your attention. It says that you are currently under investigation and that you are to adhere to the laws of La Corte Dei Conti.

The magistrates in Milan have asked parliament to lift your immunity from prosecution. You are now facing charges of corruption, receiving stolen goods, and illegal funds for the PSI in connection with a vast corruption scandal in your hometown.

That's not the worst part. As you leave your suite in Hotel Raphael, Rome, hoards of people surround you, shouting and cursing. "Thief!" "Send him to prison!" Most of them even throw coins at you, pelting you with showers of silver and bronze. Sadly, you cannot pick them up for yourself.

Things look bleak. No, honestly they do. It's going to take a political miracle to get you out of this one. You've lost your hold on your own party - the very organization that you had helped elevated. People are repeatedly throwing things at you (why do they always do that?!?). You are officially under investigation. You have made a terrible effort at punning on your friend's name (Mario - mariuolo. Get it?). Your political life is basically starting to break apart.
